Brookwood Hills is an historic Atlanta neighborhood with the quiet appeal of the suburbs yet conveniently located between Buckhead and Midtown. The tree lined streets in this area boast sidewalks and a great deal of privacy, making them a haven for cyclists, walkers and joggers. Many of the homes in Brookwood Hills are early 20th century masterpieces that have been restored and updated to suit the needs of today’s homebuyers. The original architecture reflects the styles that were popular during different building phases and includes bungalows, Tudor, Georgian and Colonial. Though the homes tend to be on the larger side, the lots are typically small, often less than one-half acre.
The Brookwood Hills Civic Association, continuing to the present, has served two purposes over the years since its founding: to operate the pool and recreation facilities, and to protect the neighborhood from the many pressures of the city as it has grown up around the neighborhood.
Brookwood Hills is close to the shops and restaurants along Peachtree Road as well as to the medical facilities at and around Piedmont Hospital. The neighborhood is also home to the Brookwood Hills Community Center, which includes a six-acre park, swimming pool, tennis courts and a playground. Nearby Atlanta Memorial Park is the location of the Bobby Jones Golf Course and Bitsy Grant Tennis Center.
